Review: Adekunle Gold – Something Different

When one hears a tune by Adekunle Gold, it is only natural for you to expect good music, this is because of the way he does his delivery and the level at which he presents his music. The Afrobeats singer has earned himself lots of admiration because of his unique style of music; with an unmatchable lyrical capability , he is unarguably one of the best stars in Afrobeat.
Starting the year with his hit single “Jore” featuring Kizz Daniel , he gives us a huge preview of what to expect from him this year. Jore has consistently been on the charts and is still making waves in the country.
On the first of May, Adekunle Gold released “Something Different” as his next single. This tune has introduced Adekunle Gold to another wave of Afrobeats, he breaks all the boundaries of limitations. Apart from the beautiful lyrics that Mr Gold is known for ; he is also known for slow and soothing beats that will aid the message the lyrics is trying to convey.
There is an obvious indication that “Something Different” is actually different from all the records Gold had produced in the past. engaging talented producer “BlaiseBeatz” ; the tune comes off as a danceable one. This is Afrobeats with pop infusion and clearly there are traces of saxophones and trumpet playing in the background.
This record has presented Adekunle Gold as an artiste that can try different dimensions in music and still bring out the best results. The world has seen this artiste at his best, with records like “Ire and Kelegbe Megbe” he continues to shine and with this good sound that just came out, it is clear that Adekunle Gold’s best is yet to come.
