Angolan Beauty Maria Borges has got it all in terms of her pronounced height, her chocolate toned skin, her eyes and facial structure. Her growth in the industry so far can be traced to her intelligence and to her hot appeal.

Born in 1992, the young Portuguese-speaking prospect was raised by her siblings during the Angolan civil war. Knowing her background and the challenges ahead of her, the young diva worked towards achieving her goals, it wasn’t long her talent was showcased to the world when she placed second in the Elite Model Look Angola 2010 and was signed to Supreme Management in New York.

With an impressive resume having appeared on 39 runways, including Marc Jacobs and Dior, it is starting to look like she was born to do this. And in an interview with she attributed her success to her ‘godfather’, Riccardo Tisci, creative director of Givenchy who has been there to guide her through the edgy road to the top.

Some of her notable fashion moments include booking the Tom Ford comeback runway show and when she posed for former Vogue Paris editor, Carine Roitfeld’s, who currently works with a new magazine CR Fashion Book.

In spite of her exposure so far and success, she hasn’t forgotten her roots. She has travelled back to Angola to walk the runway for Angola Fashion Week and was named Forbes Africa Magazine’s top model of 2013.


The beauty has been internationally dubbed a young Naomi Campbell which has proven to be a feat for her with her success over the years. The outstanding model is currently managed by Supreme Management in New York, Women Paris, Women Milan Elite Stockholm and Premiere Model Management in London.
This grid network of managers has continued to make available a constant stream of work for the new star on the block.
