When The Two Rap Elephants Fought

Feuds in music, especially in Hip-hop is like a baby attached to its mother breast, it’s like a steering of a car or a key attached to a key holder; whichever way you think of it, it’s unavoidable as long as you are in the spotlight. The battle line was drawn, guns were corked which led to exchange of fires. It wasn’t a fight that took place in the boxing ring – it was one that took place behind the scenes, a fight that caused a rift in the industry, and a fight that reportedly claimed the life of Tupac Shakur. This is a fight between Goliath (Biggie) and David (Tupac).

Many don’t know about the east and west coast beef which was spearheaded by two of hip hop’s great musicians. This rift was created between the two big gamers on the 30th November, 1994 when 2pac was shot in a Manhattan based recording studio (a situation which we all regard as the origin of feuds in hip hop today).
