Lupita Nyong'o Just Announced Her Biggest Film Role In Star Wars

Lupita Nyong'o is headed to a galaxy far away and beyond. 

The Oscar-winning actress confirmed Monday (June 2) that she would be joining the cast of Star Wars: Episode VII. The 31-year-old thespian and flawless skin model bagged an Academy Award three months ago for her supporting role in 12 Years A Slave.

"I can finally say it out loud and proud: I'm going to a galaxy far far away!", she wrote on Instagram, underneath a photo of the Star Wars' franchise logo.

Nyong'o will be rubbing elbows with Game of Thrones star Gwendoline Christie, John Boyega, Daisy Ridley, Adam Driver, Oscar Isaac and Andy Serkis on the big screen for the J.J. Abrams film, slated to open in theaters December 2015.
