HelloFood, Nigeria's Fastest Growing Online Food Delivery Platform

Hellofood, Nigeria’s fastest growing online food delivery platform announces the launch of two mobile apps – for iPhone and Android users, further expanding its reach into the African mobile commerce, hoping to continue its work by introducing a BlackBerry application in the future as a response to the high volume of BB users in Nigeria. Hellofood is a Nigerian branch of a global company Foodpanda.

Hellofood apps went live in Nigeria, Ghana, Kenya, Morocco, Senegal and Ivory Coast, allowing customers across Africa to now order from hundreds of restaurants over the internet without the need to use a computer. Mobile users can simply enter their area, choose their favourite restaurant, select a dish from the menu and enjoy their food in the comfort of their home.

Hellofood’s goal from the outset has been to make ordering food fun, fast and hassle-free. Joe Falter, Hellofood’s CEO said “With tens of thousands of Lagosians now able to order the food they love with just a touch of a button, we’re really making life as easy as possible. Whether getting a head start on hunger by ordering on the move, or placing a sneaky lunchtime order during those long morning meetings, Lagosians finally have food at their fingertips.”

It isn’t only businessmen who are taking advantage of the newly introduced service. UniLag student Tunde Adedeji uses the app to order lunch from Chicken Republic: “I used to order fried chicken from Hellofood using my computer, but now I can use the same platform from my Android phone, it saves me time, and doesn’t require a fixed internet connection.”

The popularity of mobile devices in Nigeria requires serious businesses to consider penetrating the market with new technology, and Hellofood has aimed its efforts at mobile phone users, creating a further simplified way for them to easily get their food delivered. With thousands of satisfied Hellofood customers already in Lagos, the hope is that these apps bring Hellofood’s 150+ partner restaurants directly into the palms of potential customers.
