According to reports made available to DailyPost, Kabiru was shot dead at about 10pm, around Abeokuta Street, Okokomaiko, Lagos.
Sources alleged that the killing of Kabiru was a reprisal to the murder of up and coming hip hop artist, Damilola Damochie, a 400 level Banking and Finance student of the university, who was on February 28 shot dead by suspected cultists at the institution's main gate.
"There are three main cult groups in LASU. They are Eiye, Buccaneer and Black Axe. Eiye and Buccaneer
have lost one member each. The war is between the two groups now.
"Members of the cult groups were celebrating the death of the opposition group member in a hotel, when police arrested them,'' a source said.
When contacted, the Lagos State Police Spokesperson, DSP, Ngozi Braide, confirmed the death of Kabiru, but did not give details if he was a cultist or not. She also confirmed that more than 20 persons have been arrested over the killing of Damoche.
She further noted that the suspects were arrested at Beno Hotel, Isashi, Okokomaiko, Lagos, when they were having a party.
"We are screening the suspects with a view to ascertaining their involvement in the killing of the student-musician. Anyone found to be involved will be prosecuted in court,'' Braide said.
